Aston Research
We help 5–100 person product orgs identify the workflows where AI will move the needle — and skip the ones where it won't. Two-week diagnostic, grounded in the playbook we ran at Google.

Aston Research is led by James Flynn, previously Product Lead at Google, where he led the integration of AI into privacy consent design across all Google services including Search and YouTube. The result removed months of design and approval iterations, while improving the quality - becoming part of how the team operated.
Aston Research exists to bring the same workflow-first, measurement-driven approach to smaller product organizations.
Based in Cambridge, MA.
Over two weeks we'll conduct six to eight interviews across your product, design, and engineering teams. You'll get a prioritized opportunity map indicating where AI will pay back in your specific workflows, a recommended pilot approach, and a list of where AI is not a great fit.
After the diagnostic, we scope implementation work to what we found together. Each engagement has a defined timeline and outcome.
Most AI consulting fails in one of two ways. Either it stays at the strategic level, a deck full of frameworks that doesn't change what anyone does day to day. Or it introduces tools before anyone has asked how they will be used, and whether it fits the work.
We work in the middle. We start by mapping how work flows through your org today, score each stage against the five patterns where AI delivers real enterprise value (creativity, analysis, strategy, research, automation), and generate a list of opportunities. Then we pilot a select few in a measured, reversible way, before scaling.
This is the approach that worked inside Google. It works because it treats AI adoption as a workflow design problem, not a tooling problem.
Aston Research is an AI consulting firm dedicated to helping organizations transform workflows with AI.
We start with your business objectives and strategic advantages, and work backwards from a specific definition of success to inform your AI adoption strategy.
We run a proven workflow analysis playbook to surface the best opportunities for augmentation with AI, across creative processes, analysis, research, and automation.
Aston Research brings expertise spanning engineering, consumer and B2B technology. We're based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
